2026 Summer Music Camps
Voice in the Valley is proud to offer several music camps throughout the summer for kids of all ages!
Musical Theatre/Disney Camp
June 22nd-26th
(Ages 8-18)
Voice in the Valley’s Disney Musical Theatre Camp invites performers to explore the magic of musical theatre while bringing beloved Disney classics to life. Campers will work on stagecraft skills including acting, character development, blocking, staging, and ensemble singing in a supportive, creative environment. Alongside performance training, the camp emphasizes the inner skills that help performers thrive on and off the stage with mindfulness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance skills. Togetherness, belonging, and the joy of music-making are central to the experience, creating a safe space where each performer can build confidence and connection.
The camp is held daily at the Maple Valley Creative Arts Center from 9am-2pm Monday-Thursday. All rehearsals are supported by live piano, offering the opportunity to learn how to work with a conductor and collaborative pianist. The experience culminates in a magical final production on Friday evening to share with family and friends.

Vocal Pop/Contemporary Camp
July 20th-24th
(Ages 8-18)
This high-energy pop music experience is all about singing, creativity, and understanding how today’s music industry really works. Performers will build healthy pop vocal technique, explore artistic identity, learn how to choose repertoire that reflects who they are, and collaborate in a supportive, inspiring space. The experience blends vocal work, music-making, and real conversations about artistry, and ends with a showcase-style performance similar to an open mic, designed to help performers practice putting themselves out there with confidence.
The camp is guided by Kelly Ferguson and Chris Powell, bringing together vocal technique, artistic development, and real-world music collaboration. Chris brings extensive industry experience, having toured with Drake Bell and Jacquees, and being widely co-signed by major artists across pop and hip hop, including Lindsay Lohan, Fetty Wap, Kodak Black, Lil Skies, The Game, D Smoke, and many others.
The camp will also include drop-in video sessions with special guests, including Emily Sherman, a Berklee-trained sound engineer who has worked with Atlantic Records, now works at AG INC by XX INC, has had original music featured on shows like Grey’s Anatomy, and is currently working on The Lost Boys The Musical on Broadway.
Additional drop-in calls will include Stella Ferguson, who has over 17 million likes on TikTok and has used social media to independently get her own music out into the world, and Gary Ferguson, a multi-platinum session drummer and touring musician whose career spans five decades. Gary began recording professionally at just 17 and has worked with iconic artists including Etta James, Cher, Olivia Newton-John, Ray Charles, Stevie Nicks, and more recently Lana Del Rey. He has recorded on countless albums, TV projects, and commercials, teaches at the Los Angeles Music Academy, and brings unmatched insight into life as a professional working musician.
This is an exciting and inspiring camp designed to help young artists step into the real music world with confidence, skill, and clarity! The camp is held daily at the Maple Valley Creative Arts Center from 9am-2pm Monday-Thursday. The Final Performance Showcase will be held Friday evening, open to the public.

Songwriting & Sound Recording Summer Camps
July 13th-16th & August 3rd-6th
Get ready to unleash your creativity at our 5th Annual Songwriting & Sound Recording Camp! A high-energy, hands-on music experience for aspiring artists ages 10 and up, no matter your skill level! Whether you’re writing your very first song or already building your own catalog, this camp is designed to inspire, challenge, and ignite your musical voice.
Over four unforgettable days, campers will dive headfirst into the art of songwriting and studio recording, working side-by-side with our experienced mentor, Mars Licciardi. You’ll craft meaningful lyrics, explore melody and harmony, experiment with beat-making, and learn the fundamentals of vocal recording, mixing, and production—all while collaborating with fellow music lovers in a fun, supportive environment.
The excitement reaches its peak on the final day, when campers take everything they’ve learned into a real, professional recording environment at Black Dog Recording Studio in Black Diamond. There, students will experience what it’s truly like to record in a live studio—working with high-end equipment, learning studio etiquette, and bringing their original songs to life in an authentic, industry-style session. It’s an unforgettable behind-the-scenes look at the recording process and a confidence-boosting moment they’ll never forget.
This isn’t just a camp—it’s a creative launchpad. Expect new friendships, major “aha” moments, and the thrill of hearing your own music come alive. Whether it’s your first song or your fiftieth, this is your chance to create boldly, learn deeply, and have an absolute blast doing it! The camp is held 9-12pm Monday through Wednesday at Voice in the Valley Music School. On Thursday our budding song-writers meet at Black Dog Recording Studio in Black Diamond.
